This is my newest poetry collection, written between the ages of 27 and 31. Written and re-written several times under several different names.
It is written at a crossroads where I used my 30th birthday as an excuse to reflect on where I was in life and where I was headed. And also as an excuse to tie up a lot of loose ends, and compile a lot of poems into a single collection.
The poems are divided into three sections: “Where I Come From” dealing with my childhood, depressive episodes, Denmark and the Danish language. “Where I Am” dealing with my struggles to overcome past trauma and move on, despite mourning the youth I never felt like I had. And “Where I’m Going” dealing with finding love unexpectedly, finding oneself and moving on, despite the cynicism caused by one’s past.
It is a collection that starts out melancholy, but ends on a positive and hopeful note.
The collection is 112 pages long and contains 77 poems.
