I have written poetry for close to three decades now. I started making it public as a teenager back in 2007/2008.

My first poems were in English, but as I grew older, I started gravitating back to my native Danish. Today, I write poetry in both languages.

30 after thoughts

Published in 2021.

A collection of stray poems, essays and reflections that close all unfinished business I had at the time of my 30th birthday (hence the weird name). After writing this, I took a long break from writing while I was busy studying law.

divisive / dismissive / missive

Published in 2018.

Written in a fit of inspiration (and rage) in august 2018 – pretty much in one sitting. Inspired by conflict with family members it somehow turned into a critique of social media and alienation in modern society in general.

Light Requires Darkness

Published in 2018.

This collection was based on discarded material from the previous one and was a therapeutic endeavour – I wrote myself out of a depression and into a new future.

Seen From a Distance People Lose Their Eyes

Published in 2017.

My first somewhat mature English poetry collection. It is relatively short and primarily deals with loss, isolation, writing and reflection. It is the English follow-up to the Danish collection “De spor man trækker efter sig“.

Older Poetry

Written between (roughly) 2010 and 2014, I have compiled a number of my early poems into two collections published in 2014 called “Confessions of the Cold Light of Dawn” and “What Bits of Peace My Life’s Ensured“.

Also, in 2014 I wrote a collection inspired by paintings by J. M. W. Turner and Casper David Friedrich, simply called “Poems Inspired By Paintings“.

What didn’t make these collections was simply too immature to publish, and has been quietly shelved.

Rimblomst

To be published in 2026. Work in progress.

It is a hasty work inspired by nature and trying to understand my own place in it. The title means: “Rim” = “rhyme” og “hoar frost”, and “blomst” = “flower”.

verden værker

Published in 2026.

My frist collection after a five year hiatus during law school. It carries my pain at what the world has come to, and reminisces about people I used to know and love. The title cannot be directly translated into English, but roughly means “the world struggles”.
