A goddess wove a splendid web, but before done, by dawn she fled, and left the mass of golden, tangled thread spread out beneath your head
Poems about sleep.
Sleep is a fascinating topic, and something that has for long periods eluded the poet in real life.
These are not poems about dreams, which is another tag. They do not deal with how dreams work or what they may contain. Instead, they simply deal with the act of sleeping.
It isn’t quite as large a topic, and as a result there’s fewer poems about it than about dreams.
However, the poems here deal with such things as longing for a peaceful sleep after being sleep-deprived. With watching a loved one sleep next to you. Or simply with being bored and drifting to sleep on a bus.
