Poems about change. What does that even mean? How can you say you write about “change”? Change can mean anything and everything.
True. And especially so when it is such a common theme for a poet.
However, I can explain. When K-M Skalkenæs uses the word “change” it can technically be the nebulous: “everything changes”. But more often it is related to the theme of transience, which she has also written a lot about. They are usually linked.
Change refers to the passing of time. The changes people see in themselves and others. The changes time wreaks around them. And most importantly: How to cope.
