October rainstorm whips from the land,
the sea cowers,
the downpour streaks shrieking,
low and black, pressing down the sea –
The water sinks
the reefs lie bare,
an anchored ship
stands towering high, engulfed in mist,
a woman on deck
with binoculars sees nothing –
Over the land an early moon
glides through smoking clouds –
A small boat floats
reeling towards the port –
