Revelatory poems. What is a revelatory poem? Well, K-M Skalkenæs defines it as a poem caused by a sudden leap in understanding. Or a poem to suddenly set words to a nebulous feeling. Giving it life, so to speak.

These poems relate to her experience of writing and being a writer. Her feelings of how her present life links to the past. How she is a part of nature.

All of the poems have other tags as well, and this may well be the secondary one. It is the nature of the poems and the impetus that was behind their creation, which caused them to be grouped together here. Not technically their subject matter.

There is a voice which calls to me: “You Can’t Drown” – water-borne I drift around within this sea, was I not too of water born? So much has moved beyond my reach as I seethe in this sea of […]

Imagine This:

Posted By K-M Skalkenæs

What if the Universe created us in an efforts to understand itself? And what if we in turn produce art and literature in order to understand ourselves? It would not be surprising then if art and literature – in a […]

Only This Lives Forever

Posted By K-M Skalkenæs

a rhythm, no, a beat – unheard but in-between the sounds it rests, a string unstrung makes music without sound – a pulse, again, a beat – an un-tuned, fine-tuned air, a seed of music in its latency, bearing each […]
