Hello, everybody.
Long time, no see.
I have not had the time to keep this blog properly updated for a while, and the lack of feedback from you readers has sadly made it all too easy to forget.
But that is about to change.
I have a ton of plans for this website, that I am going to outline here. I hope you’re up for it – and as always, any suggestions and/or criticism is welcome.
More Content
First and foremost, I have wanted from the outset to expand the site with articles and guides. That is about to come true! I will add sections over the course of the year, including articles about literary matters, and guides on how to write various types of poetry, self-publishing, translating, editing and much much more…
Also, I will endeavor to clean up the content as it is – since I have written a lot of poetry already, and there’s likely more to come. I am acutely aware of how difficult the site has become to navigate, and I am delighted to announce that I will be taking steps to improve the structure and navigation.
I will also be moving my translations of poetry back onto the site. This is due to simple popular demand, as I can see in the search records, that this is some of my most beloved and appreciated work. And I want to endulge you readers, by making it as easy for you to access as possible.
My Own Writing Projects
Whereas my writing has been on hold for a while, since I was foolish enough to venture into the IT industry, not realizing that would mean 5 years without spare time, that is also about to change now.
I have quit my IT job and is planning on heading back to University this September. So now, at last, I may be able to finish some of the pending writing projects, that I’ve been dying to take up these past five years.
Expect more poetry, short stories and possibly novel fragments to come.
The Design of the Blog
As I wrote earlier, I am aware that the blog has become cluttered and difficult to navigate. So my first point of interest, is cleaning up the navigation structure – that is, the menus.
Next, I plan to make some landing pages specifically for poetry, translations, short stories, essays and other content types. Again, in order to make it easier for you to navigate.
Last, but unfortunately not least, I previously shared an appeal to donate to my Paypal in order to keep the site running. Sadly, nobody ever did, despite the fact that I can see in the analytics records, that people have in fact read the plea. Since that is the case, I have had to make a terrible decision, that I had hoped we could work together to avoid. I need to raise money to pay for this blog’s expenses. And my last resort – and trust me, it really is the very last resort – is to introduce ads.
So expect to start seeing some ads on the site in the near future. I will endeavor to keep them as unobtrusive as possible, I promise. But I have no alternative but to introduce them.
I hope you’re all up for the ride, and that you will continue to follow my work, as I expand this blog into more of a poetry platform. I am looking forward to see what the future holds, and I hope you are as well.
Feel free to write your suggestions for improving and expanding the site in the comment section below.
Your input is most welcome.
