New Poem: “leaves fell unapologetically”

leaves fell unapologetically
and withered into winter –
my breath stiffens as my mind
unwind –
i see my flaws reflected
in your icy face –
my knowledge lost
to time and age –
words fall unheeded into piles
of fallen leaves, and die –
and i alone, a withered husk,
remains to wonder… why?
